  I do not know if it's the identical program:   My used program is 
called exactly:    "CodeTwo QR Code Desktop Reader"
The trick for good results:

1)    Decoding not out of the file, but from the *screen*.

2.)   When the QR Code, which can be seen on the screen,   is too large 
(decoding with error messages) then you should *reduce* the view of the 
code area.

That in all cases brought better results.
