Der BBC-Artikel https://www.bbc.com/future/article/20260821-why-older-tech-is-sometimes-safer-from-hackers bezieht sich auf https://www.irishtimes.com/ireland/2026/06/29/ireland-retains-out-of-date-air-navigation-systems-in-response-to-russian-jamming/ "....The ground-based beacons are being retained, despite nearing the end of their service life, as they are far less vulnerable to deliberate interference from hostile actors compared to GPS." Kein Hinweis ob LW/HF oder VHF. https://www.iaa.ie/docs/default-source/1c-economic-regulation/20240628-airnav-ireland-rp4-business-plan-for-consultation.pdf?sfvrsn=6806eff3_1 DAP (Dublin airport), Cork, Shannon, Connaught DVOR / DMEs as per minimum operation network requirements As part of AirNav’s minimal operational network for Navigational Aids (NavAids), it was deemed necessary to keep the DVOR/DMEs as conventional navigational aids at Dublin airport, Cork, Shannon, Connaught. This is necessary to maintain alignment with Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2018/1048 Article 6. DVOR/DMEs are used to support en route services (in the event of GNSS outage) and non-precision approach procedures to Shannon, Dublin, Cork and Knock airports. The existing DVOR/DMEs were installed between 2006 and 2008. The current systems are reaching end-of-life, and some components of the systems are obsolete. Irland bremst also den vollständigen Übergang auf satellitengestützte Navigation (PBN/GNSS) und behält bewusst ältere bodengestützte Navigationshilfen (VOR/DME). Irgendwo ein Bezug zu NDBs? Hier: https://www.eurocontrol.int/sites/default/files/2025-01/eurocontrol-minimum-operating-network-concept-design-criteria.pdf page14: "The economic study asserts that up to 90% of the existing NDBs and 53% of the existing VORs could be decommissioned over the period to 2040." page24: "NDB cannot support PBN (Performance Based Navigation) operations, avoiding the decommissioning of this technology can only be justified in cases where remaining conventional applications required for safety and business continuity reasons cannot be supported by a VOR station." roger
