Dann kann man auch Ende März in A-11 Kürzungen bei RNW erwarten? Und bei den Geheimsendungen für/von Afrika/Dafur/Voice of Tibet gleich mit?

NETHERLANDS. The new coalition government has moved the financing of Radio
Netherlands Worldwide to the Development Co-operation department of the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Up until now, RNW has been funded through the
Ministry of Education, Culture and Science. RNW Director-General Jan Hoek is
pleased at the change, which he believes is logical. He told staff that "It
is good that the importance of an international broadcaster for an
internationally oriented country like the Netherlands is recognized and
acknowledged. 70% of every euro is earned abroad, so the Netherlands has a
responsibility and an interest in maintaining an active presence on the
international stage." Hoek notes that with the Foreign Affairs Ministry
needing to find EUR 1 billion of savings, it's possible that RNW's budget
will be cut.
