[A-DX] request for advice on audio recording

Hi all,

Having a receiver (Kenwood R-5000) which is only used with all computers 
turned off, I still use an old tape recorder to make recordings. 
However, digitalizing recorded pieces is a nuisance to say the least.

As the new DX season is rapidly approaching, I am looking for advice on 
alternative recording equipment.

I was thinking of an mp3 recording device, but most mp3 recording 
devices I found on the internet do not have a line in, only a built-in 
microphone.

Does anyone have any idea on a good (and please, not expensive) recorder 
that I could purchase and use?

It needs to have a line in and must also be able connect to the computer 
to transfer recorded files onto it.
