JMK Communications’ 5,000-watt WPWC-AM 1480 Dumfries-Triangle, VA has
become Progressive Talk in the New Year, flipping from its months-long
“React Radio” format (protest-oriented music via Funk, Neo-Soul,
Hip-Hop, Blues) to “We Act Radio.” Hosts now include Dial Global’s Ed
Schultz, Thom Hartmann, Bill Press and Stephanie Miller. At the top of
the hour, the station offers national and regional news, read locally
from the studio. The station’s slogan is “The Truth is Our Product.”

DC has been without a left-leaning talker since February, 2009 when
Clear Channel’s WWRC-AM flipped to Business Talk. In May 2010, the
station flipped to Conservative Talk after Salem bought the station.

The station covers the entire metro area from 25 miles south of the
Capitol. Sharing the same set of towers is Prince William Broadcasting’s
WURA-AM 920 (Tejano).
