Das 17. Franken-DX-Camp fand vom 30.11. bis 4.12.2005 statt und begann diesmal unter ganz besonderen Umständen: Das 500m hoch gelegenen Plateau nahe Ebermannstadt in der Fränkischen Schweiz war von einer ca. 25 cm dicken Schneedecke überzogen. Ein Hauch von Polarkreis-DX lag in der Luft, leider ohne die dort oben üblichen MW-Bedingungen. Zum Glück hatte der Landwirt, dem die "Antennenwiesen" gehören, vorher die Zufahrtswege geräumt. Schneebedingt dauerte der Aufbau der sieben Beverage-Antennen etwas länger als sonst, aber nach guten zwei Stunden lief die Anlage. Es kamen die üblichen 300m langen Beverage-Antennen zum Einsatz, 1.20m über Grund, in folgende Richtungen: 50°: Pazifik, PNG 80°: Indien, Australien 140°: Naher Osten, Ostafrika 230°: Westafrika, Brasilien 260°: Bolivien, Peru 310°: Mexico, USA Eine genauere Beschreibung der Antennentechnik sowie diverse Campfotos sind meiner Webseite zu entnehmen: http://home.arcor.de/mschnitzer/ Wie auf den meisten unserer Camps, so gab's auch diesmal das eine oder andere Highlight: Hier wäre an erster Stelle Radio Vanuatu zu nennen, das wir am 1.12. mit Sendebeginn um 19.00 UTC auf der alten "Hausfrequenz" 3945 kHz beobachten konnten. 15 Minuten später war SIBC mit dem Wetterbericht für Honiara glasklar zu empfangen. Wir bleiben in dieser Ecke der Welt und gehen auf die Frequenz 3325 kHz. Hier hörten wir die PNG-Station R Bougainville. Der Sprecher erwähnte in bestem Pidgin-English die "Buka Island", was gewissermaßen einer ID gleichkam. Nicht unerwähnt bleiben soll die PNG-Station Wantok Radio Light, das nach dem "Camp-Eröffnungsbier" auf 7120 kHz zu hören war. So gegen 22.00 UTC nähert sich das Zeitfenster, in dem zwei Kontinente gleichzeitig auf dem KW-Tropenband zu hören sind. Die RRI-Stationen Westpapuas (Fak-Fak, Serui, Sorong) werden wegen des lokalen Sonnenaufgangs allmählich schwächer, dafür tauchen die ersten Südamerikaner auf. Die Latino- Freaks (also ich) freuten sich über den erstmaligen Empfang der bolivianischen Station R Virgen de Remedios auf 5745 kHz. Warum diese Station sich "Radio Jungfrau von den Heilmitteln" nennt, blieb uns jedoch verborgen (besser vermutlich "R Jungfrau der Hilfen"; Anm. für Hobby-Romanisten). Zur mitternächtlichen Rotweinpause lief dann Country-Musik der Voice of Guyana mit O=4 über die Lautsprecher. Alles in allem gilt: Tolle Empfänge, tolle Truppe, tolle Stimmung!
