From: "World DX Club" Sent: Saturday, November 03, 2012 4:00 PM
Subject: WORLD DX CLUB TO CEASE PUBLICATION *WORLD DX CLUB TO CEASE PUBLICATION* Regretfully due to health reasons Arthur and Olive Ward have had to step down from their club duties in charge of membership subscriptions, despatch of bulletins as well as many contributions to the content of Contact over the years. Arthur became club printer in July 1974 and added his secretarial role in December 1979. This leaves the club with too few voluntary staff for the work involved and it has been decided to cease publication of Contact. A final issue of Contact will be issued in early December. This will be sent free of charge to members. It will include a DX News column, a Radio Topics section, feature articles, a Schedules section containing the new B12 schedules of many international broadcasters, particularly concentrating on transmissions in English and a final Logbook. Contributions to the Logbook section should be sent to: Edwin Southwell, 8 Upton Crescent, Basingstoke, Hampshire RG21 5SN by November 22. Please only include logs made after the recent frequency changes on October 28. Any members' reminiscences, photos from club or international DX meetings attended etc are most welcome for inclusion in the final bulletin. Address these and any other contributions to the Radio Topics section to Mike Barraclough, barraclough.mike@xxxxxxxxx, 39 Sollershott Hall, Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire SG6 3PW, UK by November 22. The club has more than adequate funds to cover subscription liabilities, we are pleased to announced that agreement in principle has been reached for outstanding subscriptions to be transferred to the British DX Club for UK and overseas members outside of North America and to the North American Shortwave Association for North American members. Arrangements for this, and for the remaining residue of club funds once these have been satisfied, will be announced in, or possibly in a mailing before, the final issue. The British DX Club has agreed to handle UK and European club members' orders for the World Radio TV Handbook. All those received so far have been passed on. Thank you for your support of the club. Address any general correspondence concerning the club to Mike Barraclough, barraclough.mike@xxxxxxxxx from now on. Please do not use the club address used in this email for any correspondence, it is for mailing list purposes only.
