Der 1. Teil der Modernisierung bei RRI, eher National Radio Communications
Company, RADIOCOM Galbeni greift ab heute 0000 ROM Lokalzeit.

Andy Sennitt bei RNW und Glenn Hauser melden heute die Fertigstellung der
Errichtung neuer 300 kW CONTINENTAL Made in USA Kurzwellensender sowie

Beide S=9+30 dB hier in Stuttgart.
# siehe Tabelle unten.

links oben in der Ecke steht der 200 kW MW Sendermast.

Frage: bezahlt die EU "dat Janze"?
Und die US Firmen Harris und Continental dürfen liefern?
Kosovo ick hör' Dir trabsen...

See the limited schedule below.

Yes, only one of the new Continental 300 kW beasts at Galbeni is on air at
1800-1856 UT slot, i.e. Romanian on 9625 kHz very powerful on S=9+30 dB
level here in Central Europe.
And tiny 50 kW unit at Saftica on 7130 kHz too, Italian 1800 UT,
Aromanian 1830-1856 UT.

Missed German sce on 7160 kHz totally.

Subject: [dxld] NEW ROMANIAN SW TRANSMITTERS ON THE AIR [or not]

The website of Radio Romania International carries the following
announcement:

On August 4th, at midnight (Romania's time) or August 3rd at 21 hours GMT,
the new 300 kW, short wave transmitters located in the locality of Galbeni
started operating. The transmitters are the property of the National Radio
Communications Company, RADIOCOM. We are waiting for your written feedback
related to the quality of reception.

The old transmitters in Tiganesti will be decommissioned, to be replaced,
in about 2 months' time, with new 300 kW transmitters. Therefore, in the
coming
months, RRI's broadcasts can be received on the same frequencies on which
you have listened to our programmes so far and which we announced in mid
May 2008.

RADIOCOM has given a warning though, that, given the complexity of the
radiant system and of the new automatic switch system, the functioning of
the new short wave transmitters in Galbeni might be interrupted. We will
notify you about these possible interruptions as soon as we get news of it
from our colleagues at RADIOCOM.

where we find this disappointing follow-up:

Things to know
TECHNICAL PROBLEMS WITH RRI'S NEW SHORT WAVE TRANSMITTERS

The representatives of the National Radio Communications Company,
RADIOCOM, have assured us that they are working intensely with the
representatives of the provider, Continental Electronic Corporation,
to remedy the technical
problems reported. The second transmitter is functioning normally.

We apologise on behave [sic] of our colleagues at Radiocom and inform you
that the programs scheduled to be broadcast on the following frequencies
have been or are being affected:

The programs beamed to India at 3 hours UT on 11895 kHz, to Australia at
0530 on 17770, to Western Europe at 1700 on 11735, to North America (the
East Coast) at 2030 on 11940 and at 2200 on 9709 [sic - must mean 9790]
kHz.

On August 4th, the new 300 kW, short wave transmitters located in the
locality of Galbeni had been scheduled to start operating.

The old transmitters in Tiganesti will be decommissioned, to be replaced,
in about 2 months' time, with new 300 kW transmitters.

As soon as the malfunction is remedied RRI's broadcasts can be received on
the same frequencies on which you have listened to our programs so far and
which we announced in mid May 2008. We wish you good reception conditions
