CHINA CNR started a "Nation Urgent Radio" with an earthquake of Lushan, Ya-an, Sichuan. "Zhe li shi Goujia yingji guang bo he Lushan kang zhen jiuzai yingji diantai-This is National Urgent Radio, Lushan Earthquake Rescue and Emargency Radio". . . National Urgent Radio - Lushan Emergency Radio 24hrs on 9800 kHz, 12000 kHz and FM 92.7 MHz. Ya-an CNR1 24hrs on 639 kHz and FM 99.1 MHz. This broadcast is coproduction of CNR, Sichuan TV & Radio, Ya-an PBS and Lushan TV & Radio. (Sei-ichi Hasegawa-JPN, dxld Apr 23) National Urgent Radio-Lushan Emergency Radio noted 9800 and 12000 kHz with reports in Chinese language on remote sdr unit in Nagoya Japan, asked by woman announcer and answered by male reporter, S=7 signal at 0537 UT on Apr 23. >From Shijiazhuang towards Lushan, Ya-an, Sichuan distance is 1370 kilometers at 230 degr angle azimuth from Shijiazhuang is real 217 degr. Propagation distance would fit with good volume in 31 and 25 mb. (wb, wwdxc BC-DX TopNews April 23) Re: CNR National Urgent Radio. Some frequency of CNR-1 relays "Lushan Emergency Radio-Lushan ying ji guang bo" for 24 hrs on 5945, 6125, 7230, 7290, and 9710 kHz. de Hiroshi Dear Martien, according to Hiroshi, CNR-2 on 6065 kHz started 24hrs service from April 22. The \\ frequencies is not yet found. CNR-2 FM always 24 hrs service. (Sei-ichi Hasegawa-JPN, Apr 25/26) 9800 CNR 1 National emergency broad 0000-2400 daily Chinese 100 217 Shijiazhuang #723 CHN CNR1 from Apr.22 12000 CNR 1 National emergency broad 0000-2400 daily Chinese 100 217 Shijiazhuang #723 CHN CNR1 from Apr.22 And that answers my next question about transmitter site. But why? CNR1 is already ubiquitous to say the least all over China and most of the world. There is no point in adding these unless there is special programming on them. Maybe part of the time it's Lushan Emergency Radio (and how is that ID in Chinese?), filling the rest with CNR1? I was monitoring 12000 this morning, and CNR1 \\ programming was there for a while, but also something else, detailed report to follow. Of course, it's also a Voice of Vietnam frequency, not a very good choice for another China outlet. Note yesterday I was also having CNR1 QRM to VOV at 1251. (Glenn Hauser-OK-USA, dxld Apr 24) CHINA 9800 Lushan Emergency Radio (LER) (presumed), at 1101-1108 UT on April 30. The scheduling of the non-CNR1 programming is rather fluid; this segment not \\ CNR1 (6125 kHz) and sounded appropriate for the post earthquake emergency broadcasting; gave out phone numbers; at 1108 UT switched over to CNR1 programming. Noted 1136 to 1200 UT with LER coverage; YL announcer with background piano music; played a lot of EZL songs. 1200 UT QRM and again switch back to CNR1 programs; \\ 12000 kHz. Re: CNR National Monitoring May 1 randomly from 1005 to 1115 on 9800 \\ 12000. Times that I heard Lushan Emergency Radio (presumed), i.e. non-CNR1 programming (not \\ CNR1): 1005-1007; 1016-1018; 1029; 1101-1107 and 1114-1115 UT. Times carrying CNR1 programming ( \\ CNR1): 1007; 1018; 1107 and 1115 UT. Clearly they are frequently switching back and forth between their own Lushan Emergency Radio programming (usually either woman announcer with background piano music or playing EZL music) or carrying the normal CNR1 programs. Thanks Sei-ichi for the additional information. Also thanks to Jonathan Short <Qiao Xiaoli> for his response to my inquiry about Lushan Emergency Radio: "official webpage of emergency radio is: <http://www.cnr.cn/2013zt/yadz/yjgb/> you can listen on-line, and find many many more pics everyday." Re: CNR National Urgent Radio - Lushan Emergency Radio. This response just in: "Hi Ron, Yes it is the first Chinese Emergency Radio, open on April 22, 2013, just after the Lushan Earthquake on April 20. The full ID of the station is "National emergency broadcast-Lushan earthquake relief emergency radio", the station is setting by co-operation of CNR, Radio Sichuan, Radio Ya'an, Radio and TV station of Lushan. The frequencies are SW 9800 kHz and 12000 kHz, believed transmitted from Shijiazhuang with 100 kW towards southwest, and also use two FM frequencies: 92.7 MHz in Lushan County, and 98.8 MHz in Baoxing County. Full station ID and some programme recording: <http://www.tudou.com/programs/view/FjoSEmzmx-I/> The station also relay CNR programmes 73, Jonathan Short <Qiao Xiaoli>" (Ron Howard-CA-USA, dxld May 1/2) The ID of LER is "Zhe li shi Goujia yingji guang bo he Lushan kang zhen jiuzai yingji diantai-This is National Urgent Radio, Lushan Earthquake Rescue and Emargency Radio". The phone number during a program is a contribution offer.
