Raajjeyge Adu will be made available to all parts of Maldives next year.
In an exclusive radio interview to Dhivehi Raajjeyge Adu commemorating
its 56th anniversary, President Solih said the administration aims to
provide radio services to across the country by the end of next
February. Noting efforts to make the radio services available for smart
phones digitally, the president expressed hope to further enhance
Dhivehi Raajjeyge Adu to meet the latest technological demands.
The signal of Dhivehi Raajjeyge Adu was interrupted in some parts as the
main antenna of the radio station was removed to make way for the
development of Sina-Male' Bridge.
Dhivehi Raajjeyge Adu, the first broadcaster and the first radio channel
in the country began its broadcast in 1962. The first transmission of
the channel lasted a mere four minutes. The day also marks the
commencement of broadcasting in the Maldives...."

TVM has now become an HD channel. The new TV channels include Majlis TV,
which airs content related to parliament and parliament proceedings; Yes
TV targeting youth and sports; Munnaaru TV for religious enlightenment;
Maldives TV, a joint effort with Ministry of Tourism for marketing
Maldives as a tourist destination. In addition to this, a round the
clock news and current affairs channel is in the pipeline. In addition
to the then existing radio channels Dhivehiraajjeyge Adu and Dhivehi FM,
PSM now boasts ownership of Dheenuge Adu, a radio channel focused on
religious information.

TVM Junior is the first ever local channel dedicated for children in
Maldives and will begin officially airing programmes next month. PSM
aims to enhance the livelihoods of children, by airing child friendly
programmes to promote Dhivehi language, Islamic values, history and
