https://ec.europa.eu/info/law/better-regulation/have-your-say/initiatives/11868-Electromagnetic-compatibility-evaluation-of-the-EU-rules/public-consultation EMCD Consultation, respond before January 30, 2021 The EMC Directive 2014/30 / EU is a legislation that must ensure that equipment that is admitted to the EU market does not cause interference. Despite the EMCD, however, radio amateurs experience daily nuisance from equipment that causes interference. Even equipment that does have a CE mark regularly appears to cause a lot of interference. Think of optimizers for solar panels, LED lamps or switching power supplies. But with this EU consultation you can indicate what you think should be improved or what is right. Why we are consulting The purpose of the present evaluation is to assess if the EMCD is still fit for purpose in terms of effectiveness, efficiency, relevance, coherence and EU added value. The evaluation intends to collect evidence and information to identify possible difficulties during the implementation that may require regulatory or/and non-regulatory corrective measures and the adequacy of the Directive’s provisions in light of scientific and technological progress. On the basis of the conclusions, the Commission will assess whether next steps may be necessary to improve the performance of the Directive. Responding to the questionnaire You can contribute to this consultation by filling in the online questionnaire. If you are unable to use the online questionnaire, please contact us using the email address below. Questionnaires are available in some or all official EU languages. You can submit your responses in any official EU language. For reasons of transparency, organisations and businesses taking part in public consultations are asked to register in the EU’s Transparency Register.
