GREAT.

USA [and non] Jeff Weston spotted this seemingly official [US
military?] annt today on a Navigations Warning web site:

The original text was apparently published on this website:
<http://pollux.nss.nima.mil/MISC/warn/dm_p.html>

HYDROPAC 694/2004 (62). PERSIAN GULF. 1. IN RESPONSE TO ALL MARINERS THAT

CONTINUE BUILDING RELATIONS WITH A LARGER AUDIENCE, COALITION MARITIME
BROADCASTS BEGAN SHORT-WAVE HF RADIO BROADCASTS ON 15 APRIL DISSEMINATING
POPULAR REGIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL MUSIC AS WELL AS INFORMATION IN ARABIC,
FARSI, HINDI, PASHTU, URDU, AND ENGLISH.

THE INFORMATION PORTIONS WILL PROVIDE LISTENERS METHODS TO CONTINUE

(via Jeff Weston, BDXC-UK, April 20, 2004)

This specific text is no longer there since the page is constantly
updated, but Google has the original edition of 20 April in its cache if
you type "COALITION MARITIME BROADCASTS", where the text refering to the
broadcasts was published:

20 APRIL 2004

DAILY MEMORANDUM PACIFIC EDITION No. 76

NATIONAL GEOSPATIAL-INTELLIGENCE AGENCY
NAVAREA XII 142/2004 to 142/2004 HYDROPAC 692/2004 to 697/2004
(via Bernd Trutenau-LTU, Apr 21, 2004)

I just checked the A04 HFCC database and I see that a "new organization,"
not otherwise named, is shown for 15500 at 1400-1700 (Rampisham, 105
degrees, 500 kw) and 6125 (Dhabbaya, 315 degrees, 250 kw) at 0200-0400.
The times match generally if not exactly, and the beams would seem about
right. Interesting. Relayed "stations" come and go. Maybe this is planned
but not yet started. (Jerry Berg-USA, DXplorer Apr 24, 2004)

This sce appears in the Merlin A04 schedule as "Radio for Peace" with
quite a comprehensive schedule:

 6125 0200 0400 smtwtfs Dhabbaya 250 315 RADIO FOR PEACE ME
 9575 0100 0200 smtwtfs Rampisham 500 105 RADIO FOR PEACE ME

bin gerade am QSL sortieren . Coalition Marine Forces Radio One
(15500khz) sendete vom Schiff aus. Das weiß ich noch, aber den Grund weiß
ich nicht mehr.

Kann sich jemand besser daran erinnern?

------------------------------------------------
It is Coalition Maritime Forces- Radio One ( not Marine Forces).
I think it was used during Operation Iraqi Freedom, which started in 2003.
Broadcasts with news, music and information in six languages to the maritime
community throughout the Middle East as a service to fellow mariners who
otherwise may not hear this type of programming.
These broadcasts were transmitted by the US Navy 5th Fleet.
The station was a good verifier.
