[A-DX] AOR 7030 an RS232-USB-Wandler

Hallo,

ich würde gerne einen AOR7030 über ein serielles kabel und einen Wandler 
von RS232 auf USB an einem PC betreiben. Das Kabel habe ich mir selber 
angefertigt, da es heute praktisch keine Kompaktrechner mit RS-232 mehr 
gibt, soll diese auf USB gewandelt werden. Nun wird hier:

vor der Verwendung der RS232/USB-Wandler gewarnt, da es zu Problemen, 
bis zur Unbrauchbarkeit der Firmware des AOR 7030 kommen kann.

 VERY IMPORTANT WARNING !!!!

It is HIGHLY recommended that ANY external "Serial to USB adapter 
cables" are NOT be used with the AR7030’s serial computer connections at 
any time. Host computer should be equipped with “on the mother board” 
serial port or the use of a “ properly installed ” INTERNAL PCI or PCI 
express serial card. I have experienced nasty bugs first hand on this 
subject and just one little “burp” could easily corrupt the sets 
firmware that may not be fixable (well at least not without replacing 
the sets microprocessor). Sorry , but this rules out the use of most 
current laptops. So you have now been warned !!

Hat jemand damit Erfahrung oder ist das eine Einzelmeinung? Ich habe 
diese Warnung sonst nirgends gefunden. Der Einsatz des 7030 am USB würde 
Einiges vereinfachen...
